In the current world where MMA is king and boxing is a dying sport, it’s hard to explain just how dominant and impossible Mike Tyson seemed in the 1980’s.Between 1985 and 1989, there was no one who even seemed capable of hurting him, let alone defeating him. In the years since, the boxing world has tried and failed over and over to emulate the hype that surrounded Iron Mike.
At 49, the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world is long past his prime. That doesn’t mean the guy still doesn’t got it. Boxing gear company ProLast recently released a couple videos of Mike lacing up the gloves and hitting the heavy bag. Even now, that’s a right hook you don’t want to be anywhere near.
Don’t take this as some kind of sign Tyson is getting ready for one last shot in the ring. Tyson said a few years back that he’s lost his taste for fighting. Instead, he fills his time acting, writing, promoting the sport and making commercials such as this one.
