We’ve all been there before. You receive a card or a gift around the holidays, and you just don’t like it. For whatever reason, whether it was lacking thought, insulting, or just downright terrible.
This is one of those cases.
Somebody received this Christmas card, and ripped it up. A reddit user found it on a train, and put the pieces back together.
The card reads [sic]:
Bad things happen to good people sometimes, but how you react to those things is what defines you.
You always have a choice, there are better things ahead for you but it’s in your hands, it’s your responsibility.
Have a happy Christmas
ps. Stop Drinking, get help from someone.
This is not to say that the advice in the Christmas card is terrible. It’s actually good advice, and seems like the intentions are good. I’m sure where the anger and frustration set in is where the recipient is told to stop drinking, and get help – who says that on a Christmas card?!?
Hopefully the individual who received the card has gotten better ones from other people close to them, and the person who wrote it finds some sort of chill and gives their advice in a more timely or appropriate manner going forward.
