WFAN personality Joe Benigno has consistently shown over the course of his lengthy career in sports media that he is always going to speak his mind, whether that be in a positive light or a negative light. And on Friday, he took aim at an enemy he has had plenty of battles with in the past, technology…

The former full-time WFAN host has shared countless times over the years that not only does he disdain technology, but he also refuses to use a smartphone in the day and age where that is virtually unheard of. Test

This has led to some hilarious moments on his podcast, Oh the Pain, when technology, as it often does, fails to cooperate.

Most notably, he went on an epic rant last November about a malfunction that he believed stopped his podcast from recording, only for the podcast to be recording the entire time and eventually still getting posted once it concluded.

In this instance, Benigno was able to avoid really slipping up and saying anything with too much colorful language.

But on Saturday’s edition of his podcast, he was not as lucky, slipping up and dropping a number of f-bombs when he thought that his podcast had stopped recording due to another technological issue.

“AHHH,” said Benigno as he believed his podcast had stopped recording. “This thing, this ****ing thing. Of course, this would happen. Come on, come on. Come on baby come on. Let’s go! God d***it. God d***it. This ****ing thing. It stopped recording. Why does this thing pop up like that, where it covers the whole screen? There’s no reason for it. Ugh, I can’t take it. Unbelievable, I have got to do this again?”

Benigno’s wife, Terry, ultimately assisted him and “fixed” the podcast, even though as we all know it was recording the entire time. Benigno clearly didn’t recognize this, because it was business as usual for him when he believed that the recording was back.

“Alright, we’re back,” said Benigno. “We had a little glitch here so we want to apologize for everybody. Let’s get back to where we were. We were talking about (Joel) Embiid and how overrated he is.”

Much like the last incident, this moment obviously could have been cut out of the podcast completely if someone had just checked the recording before uploading it. But it was instead released in its entirety, which generated some laughs from some fellow media personalities.

Would most media members be absolutely mortified by this incident being released for everyone to hear? Absolutely, but Benigno’s anti-tech personality is part of what makes him such a beloved character to some.
