This will go over well in Alabama.
Reigning Jeopardy! champion Terry was just trying to answer a college football related question, and his response was about as bad of a mix up as you can make.
In the category “colleges by team names,” the clue was “the Crimson Tide,” and Terry quickly buzzes in. He struggles to come up with an answer right away, but quickly goes with Auburn. That would be an OK mistake if the Alabama Crimson Tide weren’t such big rivals with the Auburn Tigers. Alex Trebek doesn’t try to hide the facts, telling Terry after the clue is correctly answered by someone else, “Terry’s going to hear from University of Alabama people on that one.”

Poor guy. I think he couldn’t come up with an answer in the heat of the moment, and came up with the first A-titled team he could think of. It just turned out be a really bad call on his part.
Terry unfortunately didn’t repeat as Jeopardy! champion, as Steve, the man who correctly answered the clue won handily. Great job, Steve. Roll Tide.
