Oy, talk about adding injury to insult.
Ohio State forward Jae’Sean Tate made embarrassing headlines Saturday when he got blown by on defense while slapping the floor. Well, it turns out, according to The Columbus Dispatch, that Tate re-aggravated a left shoulder injury while slapping the floor and now could miss the rest of the season.
Tate first hurt the shoulder in the first half against Nebraska on Saturday but returned for the second half, only to re-injure himself during the floor-slapping demonstration. He left the game for only four seconds and played the rest of the second half and overtime, as Ohio State ended up winning the game 65-62.
While the floor slap didn’t end up costing the Buckeyes a win, it may have cost them one of their best players, a forward who had started every game was averaging 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds.
Hope it was worth it, Mr. Tate.
