NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport tweeted a more specific prognosis, reporting that McCoy is unlikely to play Sunday but expected back the following week.
#Bills RB LeSean McCoy (MCL sprain) is in doubt for this Sunday vs. the #Cowboys, but he is expected back Week 17 vs. the #Jets, source said

McCoy, in his first season in Buffalo, has rushed for 895 yards, ninth most in the NFL.
The seventh-year running back, who missed two games earlier this season with a hamstring injury, has been a workhorse when on the field for the Bills. McCoy has carried the ball 203 times, almost three times as much as his backup Karlos Williams.
The Bills are 6-8 and have cannot make the playoffs even if they win their final two games, so expect them to be cautious with McCoy’s health. There’s no reason to rush him back only to watch him re-injure himself in a meaningless game. But according to NFL Network’s Rand Getlin, the team has no plan to shut McCoy down.
I'm told we may see #Bills RB LeSean McCoy again this season. As of now, no plan to shut him down.

It’s been a busy year for McCoy, who was traded from Philadelphia to Buffalo, called Eagles coach Chip Kelly racist, stood by his comments, hung up on Kelly (reportedly) and, most recently, reminded everyone he doesn’t like Washington fans.
