The Kansas City Chiefs will be without All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney after he suffered a pectoral injury during the team’s win over the Buffalo Bills last week. And in a pretty terrible turn of events for the team, it sounds like he would not be expected to play in the Super Bowl even if the Chiefs are able to beat the Ravens and advance to the big game.

According to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Joe Thuney has not officially been ruled out for the remainder of the postseason, but he is considered a “long shot” to play in the Super Bowl if the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

“#Chiefs All-Pro guard Joe Thuney received varying opinions for his pectoral injury, sources say. Some experts believe it’s torn, others believe it’s a strain. Surgery is being considered. If KC advances to the Super Bowl, Thuney isn’t ruled out, but he’s considered a long-shot,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this is terrible news for the Chiefs as he was one of the team’s top players all season, and the NFL world had a lot to say about this misfortune on social media.

We’ll have to see how the Chiefs perform without him.
