Two months ago, back when Washington’s Kirk Cousins was a struggling quarterback with six touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season, he had a nice game in a comeback win over Tampa Bay and asked an enthusiastic question of the assembled media.

Since that game, Cousins has thrown 20 touchdowns and three interceptions while leading his team to a 6-3 record. Saturday night, he racked up 365 yards and four scores in a victory over the Eagles that clinched the division for Washington. Afterwards, chants of “you like that” rang out from Philadelphia to D.C. and everywhere in between.
It began with Cousins on the field.
Then continued in the locker room.
And it followed him to the parking lot.
“You like that?” has become a sort of rallying for Washington fans, and why shouldn’t it be? Ever since they heard those words, their quarterback, and their team, has been really good. Jay Gruden chose to stick with Cousins through a rough start and has now committed to him for 2016, and the former fourth-round pick continues to make that decision look wise.
Anyway, it doesn’t look like the catchphrase is going away any time soon.
