Wrestling legend Jim Ross was falsely claimed dead after a Twitter hacker got into his account and started sending out messages.
An apparent Leeds United fan sent out multiple tweets from his @JRsBBQ account in support of the club, and a NSFW one as well before sending out a “family statement,” announcing that Ross was dead.

Ross’s account has since been suspended but not before causing a social media firestorm, as Ross was trending on Twitter after the hacked tweets were sent out. The hack seemed to work, as some wrestling fans thought he’d passed.

To all his family and friends, Jim Ross is alive and well. I just spoke to him. Wants friends and family to know this. #wwe

I haven’t been this upset since the Internet killed Jeff Goldblum.
Ross’s account is currently offline.
