Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has often been overlooked in comparison to Caitlin Clark over the course of her basketball career. But on Sunday, Reese etched her name into the WNBA record books with another complete performance against the Seatle Storm.
Reese has excelled as both an inside presence and a rebounder early on in her WNBA career, coming into the game with 12 consecutive double-doubles, a tie for the record of consecutive double-doubles in league history set by Candace Parker.
It didn’t take Reese long to surmount the record on Sunday, recording her 13th double-double on a putback layup midway through the third quarter.
A look at the bucket that made history for Angel Reese 🙌

Reese overtaking a record set by a true icon of women’s basketball in Candace Parker is obviously a massive accomplishment that is not to be overlooked.
As you may expect, fans took to social media to praise Reese for the spectacular stretch of play that made this record possible.
I've never seen a rookie player's achievements get downplayed as much as Angel Reese's.

While Reese may not be as flashy and exciting as Caitlin Clark in the eyes of some, she has been every bit as productive when it comes to contributing in multiple ways on the court this season.
Those who are counting her out as a real Rookie of the Year candidate this season may quickly find themselves eating their words if Reese can continue this kind of play throughout her rookie season.
